Swords are bladed weapons used in the Epic Battle Fantasy series. Their most prominent user is Matt, who is usually seen carrying a large array of swords with him wherever he goes. Interestingly, Matt's arsenal includes several weapons that are not actually swords, including spears, axes, clubs, guitars, a hockey stick, and even a severed arm. Despite this, they are all classified as swords for the sake of simplicity, or even humor.

As with the weapons of the other playable characters, Matt's swords come in all shapes and sizes, with various effects on his stats, abilities, and resistances. Many of them focus on increasing his Attack over his Magic Attack, with many providing smaller bonuses to his other stats.

All of the following stats given are for the fully upgraded (Level 5) versions of the swords. For stats for each level, view the sword's individual pages.

Epic Battle Fantasy 4

There are 22 swords in total, 3 of them (1 of which was added in the Battle Mountain update) are exclusive to the Steam release of the game and the Premium Pack. 4 of them were added in the v3 update of the Steam version. 10 swords are returning and 12 are new.

Epic Battle Fantasy 5

There are 21 swords in total, 5 of which are currently exclusive to the paid Steam release of the game and the outdated free Battle Demo. Of the Swords, 10 are returning and 11 are new.

Unlike in EBF4, paid equipment is scattered all around the list, but their slots will automatically be skipped on free versions of the game. The following table is based off the paid version; red cells indicate paid equipment and green cells indicate seasonal equipment that can only be obtained during certain months.

Other Notable Sword Users

• Befitting their status as evil counterparts of Matt, Dark Matt and Matteus both wield swords; Dark Matt uses the Anarchy and the Drill Lance, while Matteus uses the Berzerker. Similarly, the Matt Doll wields half of a pair of scissors like a sword.
• In EBF2-4, Lance wields a gunblade (a sword with a built-in revolver-like gun) alongside a variety of bigger guns.
• Several members of the Kitten Army wield various swords, including their Cat Soldier, Cat Warrior, and Cat Ninja variants. NoLegs, in particular, seems to favor a shortsword when he has to fight - this forms the basis of his Cat Toys when he becomes playable in Epic Battle Fantasy 5.
• In EBF2 and 3, Meow Meow wields a disproportionately massive sword with a broad, jagged blade. It has a tendency to shatter when he uses it in battle, damaging friend and foe alike.
• In EBF1, Zombie Roku wielded the Anarchy during his battle against Matt and Natalie.
• In EBF3 and 4, many Elementals have a blade for a left arm that can be used for slashing and stabbing attacks. Some versions can engulf their blades in energy for a more powerful attack.
• Several robotic bosses in the series use swords, such as the Guardian (in EBF2) and the Praetorian (in EBF4).
• In EBF3 and 4, Swordslingers, as the name suggests, carry numerous swords under their cloaks with which they attack.
• Akron's Raised form (in EBF3) is able to release an enormous sword made of red energy from its mouth to stab enemies. His Rune Claws (in EBF3 and 4) can generate smaller energy swords from their glowing cores, and his Evil Worms (in EBF3 and 4) can regurgitate what appears to be the Fusion Sword to slash enemies.
• As of EBF4, many Golems have enormous blades for arms, enabling them to perform powerful slash attacks.
• Blue and Red Clays both wield swords.
• In EBF4, both of Godcat's battle machines (The Creator and The Destroyer) can summon sword-tipped tentacles to aid them in combat.
• In EBF5, three of the five Fallen variants wield swords, those being the Lost Fallen, Crucified Fallen, and Burned Fallen.
• In EBF5, the Devourer can release a gigantic red energy sword from his eye, in a similar vein to Akron's energy sword, and swing it around to slice his opponents
