Stormsplitter

The Stormsplitter is a Thunder-elemental sword for Matt in Epic Battle Fantasy 4. It was added in the v3 update of the game.

Description

The Stormsplitter is a long, golden poleaxe. Its head has a circular shape and has blades attached on both sides, the blade on the back is smaller and has a semicircular shape, while the blade at the frontside is much larger and has a curvy shape, with several runes engraved alongside its body.

The Stormplitter grants a massive boost to Matt's Attack, the third highest in the game only behind the Anarchy and Equilibrium, alongside a modest boost to HP and Magic Attack, but this comes at the cost of a massive Evade penalty, with more minor penalties to Defence, Magic Defence, and Accuracy too. It can inflict Stagger both with its weapon-elemental attacks, and its unleashed Thunder Blast, and can randomly cast Thunderstorm to damage and potentially Stun enemies.

The Stormsplitter is arguably the second best sword in the game, granting one of the highest attack boosts at the expense of relatively minor penalties. Only its evade penalty is significant, and even then Matt generally relies more on tanking attacks rather than dodging them, so it's usually not a very punishing demerit. That said, it still loses out to the Equilibrium, mainly because its special effects are overall less powerful; both Thunder Blast and Thunderstorm scale off Matt's much lower magic attack and their status effects aren't very reliable, and the sword's own stagger chance is also on the lower side. As such, the Equilibrium is generally still the better choice most of the time, except when fighting Thunder-weak enemies, where the Stormsplitter's elemental boost allows Matt to do significantly more damage with Big Spark.

Epic Battle Fantasy 4

The Stormsplitter is located in a chest in the Battle Mountain that was added in the v3 update, on the same screen as the Endless Battle and Foe Marathon. As one of the "ultimate weapons", it comes pre-forged at level 5.
