Lost Fallen
The Lost Fallen is a foe and a summon in Epic Battle Fantasy 5. It is primarily found in the Frozen Valley, though the first one appears in the western side of the Freezeflame Dungeon and some individuals are scattered around areas such as the Rainbow River.
Appearance
The Lost Fallen is a suit of armor possessed by a hostile spirit - according to the Bestiary, it was once worn by a Viking explorer. The armor consists of a tunic somewhat resembling the Viking Fur, with a dark brown midsection and lower trim. The bottom of the tunic is tan, matching the spiral marking in its center and the furred overcoat covering the Fallen's torso. The tunic is held together by a metal clasp with a pale blue gem. The rest of the suit consists of grey metal armor; two pauldrons/shoulder plates, a horned helmet, and gauntlets with four clawed fingers. The helmet has a "Y"-shaped visor, revealing a pair of light blue eyes glowing from the darkness beneath the armor.
The Lost Fallen wields a single-edged falchion with blue runes etched into its silver blade. The sword has a dark brown wooden grip, a simple grey pommel, and a guard consisting of an oval blue gem set in a silver ring. The Lost Fallen wields this sword in one hand, but is capable of temporarily summoning an identical sword in its other hand for one of its attacks.
Overview
The Lost Fallen is a mid-tier foe with a variety of physical attacks. Aside from its version of Tremor, all of its moves target a single player; most hit multiple times, apart from the aforementioned Tremor and an accurate thrusting stab attack. It has some non-elemental skills, but it can also inflict some Ice, Earth, and Wind damage. Two of its moves have a chance to Chill their victim, increasing the Lost Fallen's Ice damage while letting it set up combos with Ice and Water-based allies.
On higher difficulty levels, the Lost Fallen buffs its Evade when it uses Double Sword, and Thrust becomes prone to inflicting Freeze on its target. The latter is particularly worrisome when coupled with its Chill-inducing moves or Wet-inflicting allies, making resistance to the status advisable.
Like the rest of the Fallen, the Lost Fallen accounts for the party's elemental resistances in battle; it aims its elemental sword attacks at the player least resistant to them and will choose between Tremor and Undead Blade based on whether the party is more resistant to Ice or Earth. This can be used to make it a little more predictable, but it's usually more efficient to afflict it with Syphon or Berserk; then, the party can focus on high Defence and Ice resistance (as well as Freeze on Hard and Epic). These status effects also prevent the foe from buffing its Evade or Chilling players.
The Lost Fallen absorbs Ice, Dark, and (to a lesser extent) Wind while being immune to Thunder and resistant to Bomb; it's also immune to Chill, Freeze, Weaken, Tired, Curse, Bad Luck, Doom, and Instant Death. On the other hand, it's weak to Holy and especially Fire; the latter is accentuated by its lack of resistance to Dry, Burn, and Scorch. If "More Foe Resistance" is enabled, it becomes immune to Holy, Bio, and Water and gains a modest resistance to having its Attack, Defence, and Accuracy debuffed.
The Lost Fallen is notable as one of only two foes capable of dropping Mythril Shards. It's not terribly efficient for farming - Mythril Shards can't be stolen from it, and their drop rate is atrociously low - but it is the only foe that drops the Material until the Temple of Trials becomes accessible in the endgame.

Battle Logic
The following describes general logic of the enemy and attack patterns, with chances of each attack to be used. Conditions are listed from highest to lowest priority unless specified otherwise.
Action
- If catchscore >55 and all players are Lovable → Flee;
- If Syphoned or Berserked → Double Hit (1/3), Rune Sword Throw (1/3), Thrust (1/3);
- Otherwise → Double Hit (1/5), Rune Sword Throw (1/5), Thrust (1/5), Double Sword (1/5);
- Chooses best elemental spell based on active party's elemental resistance → Undead Blade/Tremor (1/5).
* Thrust, Double Sword and Undead Blade will prioritize targets that aren't resistant to their elements.
Counter (only if Counter-Attacking Foes is enabled)
- 33%;
- If Syphoned → Double Hit;
- Otherwise → Chooses best elemental spell based on active party's elemental resistance → Undead Blade/Tremor.
Additionally, if any front line player has equipment that scares Ghosts, the Lost Fallen will immediately Surrender and Flee on their turn if <49% HP, or inflict 1x Berserk on themselves otherwise (the latter does not take up their action).
Summon
The Lost Fallen can be captured and used as a summon; it can also be randomly summoned by Fenrir's Jaw and the Alt Viking Buckler. It uses a modified version of its Double Sword attack, hitting a single foe for partially Wind-based physical damage; afterwards, each living party member (including backup) receives five stacks of Morale.
In terms of Morale stacks per SP cost, the Lost Fallen isn't quite as efficient as the Stumpy Gloop summon. However, it adds some damage and provides a greater amount of Morale per use, which may be more important depending on the situation.
