This article lists the ways to impact the Magic Attack stat. For a general description of the stat, see Stats#Magic Attack.

Epic Battle Fantasy

Magic Attack buffs are available to players only through the following item:

Swords providing bonuses to Magic Attack:

No skills are available for players to debuff foes' Magic Attack. No foe abilities can buff or debuff Magic Attack.

Epic Battle Fantasy 2

Magic Attack buffs are available to players through the following means:

  • Magic Potion (consumable item) — Buffs by 50%, 70% with Chemist skill bonus and 90% with Chemist x2. Before the EBF Collection update, set the (de)buff state to +50% (+65%/70% with Chemist/Chemist x2 instead).
  • Mystery Potion's (consumable item) positive buffs variant (20% chance to roll) — Buffs by 50%. Before the EBF Collection update, set the (de)buff state to +50% instead.
  • Kyun (Limit Break) — Buffs by 40% normally, targets both players.

Swords providing bonuses to Magic Attack:

Skill bonuses providing boosts to base Magic Attack:

  • The Force for Matt — +8
  • Mighty Mage for Natalie — +4
  • Wizardry for Natalie — +9

Skill bonuses providing resistance against Magic Attack debuffs:

  • Immunity for Natalie — Grants 50% chance to dodge any bad status effect or stat debuff, independent of their infliction chance.
  • Immunity x2 for Natalie — Grants actual immunity to all bad statuses and debuffs.

Magic Attack debuffs are available to players through the following means:

  • Unleash with Razorback — 200% chance, 25% strength.
  • Kyun (Limit Break) — 100% chance, 40% strength, targets all foes, ignores resistances.
  • Lucky Star (only with Antimagic Skill Bonus) — 100% chance, 40% strength.

Foe abilities that can buff Magic Attack:

  • Rock Eater's shell smash — 30% strength, targets self.
  • On Hard/Epic, Valkyrie receives 20% or 40% (depending on difficulty) buff each time a Nuke is defeated, even though the tank has no access to magical attacks by that point.

Foe attacks that can debuff Magic Attack:

  • Sandworm's blood vomit (2nd hit only) — 60% chance, 30% strength, targets both players.
  • Sandworm's supersonic burp — 100% chance, 30% strength, targets both players.
  • Satelite Dish's debuff (Epic-only extra hit) — 40% chance, 40% strength, targets both players.
  • Satelite Dish's debuff (standard hit) — 20% chance, 40% strength, targets both players.
  • Spirit's triple punch (3rd hit only) — 50% chance, 20% strength.
  • Zombie Hydra's Haunt (2nd hit only) — 60% chance, 20% strength, targets both players.

Epic Battle Fantasy 3

Player Buffs

Magic Attack buffs are available to players through the following means:

  • Red Jacket (male armor) and Red Dress (female armor) buff the user when hit by a powerful attack and thrown offscreen — 15% strength at level 4 and 20% at level 5.

Foe Buffs

Foe abilities that can buff Magic Attack:

  • Akron's element swap (only in submerged form) — 50% strength, targets self.
  • Akron's charge (only in raised form) — 50% strength, targets self.
  • Ancient Monolith's buff — 70% strength, targets self.
  • Abyss buffs self by 70% each time another head dies.
  • Bolt Rune's buff — 50% strength, targets all foes.
  • Cosmic Monolith's buff — 70% strength, targets self.
  • Czars' buff & regen — 30% strength, targets all foes.
  • Dark Golem's self-buff — 50% strength.
  • Frozen Eye's self-buff — 70% strength.
  • Giant Squid's arm regrow on Epic difficulty — 70% strength, targets self.
  • Lava Eater's unused shell smash — 60% strength, targets self.
  • Light Clay's magic potion — 70% strength.
  • Protector's charge (both types) on Epic difficulty — 70% strength, targets self.
  • Rock Eater's unused shell smash — 60% strength, targets self.
  • Rune Claw's charge — 50% strength, targets self.
  • Viking Monolith's buff — 70% strength, targets self.

Debuffs

Player Debuffs

Magic Attack debuffs are available to players through the following means:

  • Kyun (Limit Break) — up to 100% chance and 50% strength, targets all foes.
  • Unleash with Dream Catcher (staff) — up to 150% chance and 50% strength.
  • Rapturer (gun) — up to 100% chance and 20% strength at base.
  • Unleash with Steel Shark (gun) — up to 150% chance and 500% strength.
  • Unleash with Dark Tooth (staff) — up to 100% chance and 50% strength, targets self, ignores resistances.

  • Red Jacket (male armor), Dark Gown (female armor) and Red Dress (female armor) buff the user when hit by a powerful attack and thrown offscreen — up to 30% strength.

Equipment providing bonuses to Magic Attack:

Magic Attack debuffs are available to players through the following means:

  • Dark Flare — up to 60% chance and 50% strength.
  • Pulsar — up to 40% chance and 20% strength, targets all foes.
  • Pulse — up to 50% chance and 25% strength.
  • Talisman Seal — up to 100% chance and 50% strength.
