Seraphim

The Seraphim is a holy-elemental staff available for Natalie in Epic Battle Fantasy 3 and 4.

Description

The Seraphim is a long white staff with a pointed pommel and a head consisting of a round red gem and a blue crystal bound with thin strands of gold. The crystals are flanked by two sets of feathery white wings; one pair are small and point downwards, while the others are a large, upward-curving pair bigger than the crystal.

The Seraphim is an offensive Holy weapon notable for providing a solid Magic Attack stat, a great MP boost, and a little bit of Evade. It empowers Natalie's Holy skills, and allows her to unleash a Holy spell with weapon-elemental skills. It's a great staff for spamming Judgement, one of Natalie's most potent attacks, but Crystal Staff and other elemental staves tend to work better in situations where Holy is not needed.

Epic Battle Fantasy 3

With great Magic Attack and MP (along with minor bonuses to Magic Defence and Evade), the Seraphim is an effective offensive staff, especially with the Holy skills it boosts. Unfortunately, its Shine unleash is nigh-useless, due to a glitch that prevents it from reaching meaningful power levels; as such, Natalie will need to rely on her own Holy spells to exploit its abilities. It also lets Natalie cure her own ailments with Unleash, but the nature of most ailments means that she can only use it on Poison or Doom.

The Seraphim resists Holy, up to 50% at Level 5.

Epic Battle Fantasy 4

The Seraphim has solid Magic Attack and modest increases to MP and Evade. It powers up Holy skills, including its own Holy Fire unleash; this bonus skill inflicts decent damage and gives Natalie a means of hitting foes with Dispel in the process.

The Seraphim resists Holy and Weaken, becoming immune to the latter at Level 5.

Epic Battle Fantasy 3

The Seraphim can be bought in the Equipment Shop for 12,000 gold.

The unleashed Shine always acts as if host skill's power is 40.

Epic Battle Fantasy 4

The Seraphim is found in the Temple of Godcat's ice cave, in a chest that falls at the center of the screen after lighting the torches. The chest's landing site is blocked by a battle that appears as a Black Dragon.

Trivia

• In Hebrew, Seraphim means "the burning ones". It is most notably used as the name of the highest class of angels, who are often associated with multiple pairs of wings - similarly, the Seraphim staff has two pairs of wings on its head.
• The Seraphim is also wielded by the Angel that appears in Epic Battle Fantasy 2.
