Fenrir's Jaw is a bow available for Anna in Epic Battle Fantasy 4 and Epic Battle Fantasy 5.

Description

Fenrir's Jaw is made of silver metal, with two large plates connected by a smaller, darker piece. The connection points appear to be hinged, and small chains are connected to the backs of the side plates via small metal rings. The front edges of the side plates bear two spikes at their outer tips - coupled with the hinged design, the bow is reminiscent of an open bear trap. Its arrows are silver and metallic, with a somewhat rounded head and a small ring near the tail.

Fenrir's Jaw is usually an offensive-leaning bow with Death resistance and minor defensive boons, most notably the ability to drain HP with its weapon-elemental attacks. In this sense, it can be considered a counterpart to Matt's Blood Blade, allowing Anna to keep herself healthy while damaging her foes.

Epic Battle Fantasy 4

Fenrir's Jaw is a Holy bow with the elemental boost to match; however, its most unique feature is its ability to drain HP with weapon-elemental skills. Stat-wise, it has average Attack and mediocre Magic Attack, as well as small boosts to HP, Evade and Accuracy.

Despite being the only bow able to drain HP, Fenrir's Jaw lacks any other real defensive capability, not even boosting Defence or Magic Defence. It's mainly useful for offensive support; with the help of status Flairs, Anna can damage and debilitate foes while simultaneously healing herself. Its power is hampered by Anna's relative lack of options to exploit its Holy boost; she does naturally learn Soul Arrow, but it's too gimmicky to be relied upon in most scenarios.

Fenrir's Jaw resists Instant Death and Doom, becoming immune to both at Level 5.

Epic Battle Fantasy 5

Fenrir's Jaw is a non-elemental bow with great Attack and small boosts to HP, Evade and Accuracy. It drains HP and inflicts Tired with weapon-elemental skills; between turns, it can randomly summon a Lost Fallen to deal some physical Wind damage and grant Morale to the entire party.

Fenrir's Jaw is an unorthodox offensive weapon with some defensive traits. Its Attack is only slightly weaker than The Stinger and the Iron Tusk, but its non-elemental boost is highly situational; Shredder and Geometry are strong, but they cannot capitalize on elemental weaknesses or be boosted by statuses like Razor Leaf or Nitro Blitz can. While its ailment infliction is subpar, Tired can still help increase or maintain Accuracy and Evade debuffs on vulnerable foes; as usual, status Flairs can alter its effect to better benefit the party. Its HP-draining properties increase Anna's durability; combined with the occasional Morale from its auto-summon, it can prove more enduring than its relatively lacking bulk suggests.

Fenrir's Jaw resists Death, Doom, Virus and Poison. It becomes immune to all of them at Level 5.

Equip Remix

Alt Fenrir's Jaw is a "glass cannon" weapon that puts the Honjo Masamune to shame. It counters attacks with Combo Shot and randomly casts Sharpen between turns - curiously at whatever level the player has upgraded it to - which will always target the player side. While these effects are nice, they pale in comparison to its stats.

Alt Fenrir's Jaw has a frankly ludicrous Attack boost - 200% at Level 5, more than any weapon in the game - but it comes with minor penalties to Anna's defenses and Magic Attack, as well as a massive penalty to her HP. This setup is similar to the normal version of the Honjo Masamune, but with a key difference in its wielders' stats; unlike NoLegs, Anna's base Evade isn't high enough to mostly invalidate her bulk. Coupled with the bow's lack of Evade or reliable defensive effects, its vulnerability to enemy attack rivals the likes of the Alt Slime Staff and the Alt Chainsaw Gun.

Overall, Alt Fenrir's Jaw is easily Anna's best weapon for an all-out offensive build, but it requires maintenance and preparation to let her properly apply its immense power. The Alt Nurse Hat and the Alt Cactus Dress can mitigate its frailty with their on-Defend effects; the latter in particular provides beneficial status effects that can be prolonged with the bow's auto-Sharpen. Alternatively, offensively-inclined hats and armor (such as the Alt Royal Crown and the Alt School Uniform) can further amplify Anna's damage output if her allies' support can keep her alive. The Alt Fairy Bow or the Alt Angel Wing are options for less risky physical offense.

Alt Fenrir's Jaw resists Wind, Holy and Thunder. None of them will become an immunity at Level 5.

Epic Battle Fantasy 4

Fenrir's Jaw can be bought in the Whitefall Town Equipment Shop for 4,000 gold.

Fenrir's Jaw can be bought in any Equipment Shop for 60,000 gold, e.g. in Hope Harbor, Greenwood Village or Redpine Town. Prior to the v2 update, it only cost 8,000 gold.
