The Red Dress is a recurring female armor in the Epic Battle Fantasy series. Its hat counterpart is the Red Ribbon.
Description
The Red Dress is a strapless red dress with black trim around the skirt, a red bow on the waist, and detached sleeves with small bands around the wrists. It comes with red stockings and boots until EBF5, where they became black. In the latter game, Natalie's version has a raised neckline if the "Cleavage" option is disabled.
In all of its appearances, the Red Dress is one of Natalie's default outfits. Its most prominent feature, shared with the Crystal Staff, is its resistance to Fire, Thunder and Ice - three of the most common elements in the game. It also provides its wearer with some Magic Attack and a notable Magic Defence stat, but its Defence tends to be average at best.
Epic Battle Fantasy 3
The Red Dress has good Defence and Magic Defence, with the latter being slightly higher; it also offers a small Magic Attack bonus and tiny increases to Evade and Accuracy. It has a balanced set of resistances and the ability to buff Natalie's Magic Attack when she takes a powerful blow, allowing it to serve as a versatile day-to-day armor.
The Red Dress resists Fire, Thunder and Ice, up to 30% at Level 5.
Epic Battle Fantasy 4
The Red Dress offers a decent Defence boost and a significant Magic Defence boost, along with a solid Magic Attack bonus. It can buff the wearer's Magic Attack when she takes a powerful blow, which allows her to heal or retaliate with a powerful spell if she survives the attack. Natalie obviously benefits the most from this, but Anna can make use of the Red Dress's abilities in a healer build or if she has openings to use Hurricane and/or Mother Earth.
The Red Dress resists Fire, Thunder and Ice, up to 50% at Level 5.
Epic Battle Fantasy 5
Normal
The Red Dress has low Defence but great Magic Defence and a fair Magic Attack. It also increases the chances of status effects landing and has a high chance of giving Good Luck to the user (becoming essentially permanent Good Luck when maxed). When combined, these two effects greatly increase the status infliction chance of the wearer's attacks; pairing it with other equipment that boosts the chances of status infliction - such as the Blue Elephant and the Alchemist's Bow - more than triples the wearer's chance to land status effects. It's a vital component of Anna's status build, but Natalie can also utilize the status boost in specific builds while also taking better advantage of the Red Dress's stats.

Equip Remix
The Alt Red Dress retains its signature tri-elemental properties, but with an offensive twist. Its Defence is serviceable and its Magic Defence is impressive, and it offers a moderate boost to Magic Attack. Its abilities boost the power of Fire, Thunder and Ice skills, giving the wearer solid coverage if they can exploit all three elements.
The Alt Red Dress is suitable for a balanced offensive Natalie build, modestly improving her best stats and most of her core offensive spells while ensuring that she won't lose her buffs or access to her skills. Fittingly, it has great synergy with the Alt Dark Tooth (Natalie's default staff), which also boosts Fire, Thunder, and Ice skills; alternatively, it can be used with the Alt Dragon Wings to empower six different elements at once (including double-boosted Fire spells). In contrast, Anna can make use of the Thunder and Ice boosts, but her natural skill set lacks Fire options and leans more physical than magical.
The Alt Red Dress resists Dispel and Syphon, becoming immune to both at Level 5.
Epic Battle Fantasy 3
The Red Dress is available from the start of the game as Natalie's alternative option to the Whitemage Dress.
