The Rapture is a location in Epic Battle Fantasy 5. It is the hellish remains of the eastern side of the Southern Continents after the Great Impact. It is the first part of the final area in EBF5, though "The Rapture" may also refer to the final portion, called The Beyond, as well as the second area called the Lava Lake.

Description

The Rapture is a bizarre area, mostly comprised of black stone with assorted red crystals jutting out (resembling the Cosmic Monoliths which dot the area). The Great Impact appears to have unearthed some ruins from ancient civilizations, judging by the area the Zombie Hydra lives in. The waters on the southern side of the Rapture are pink and presumably toxic. Red fungus/plant-like life forms riddle the area, accenting the otherworldly vibe.

Technically, the Rapture has a subsection in the east called the Lava Lake; the "Lava Lake" refers to the magma/lava-filled crater while "the Rapture" refers to the obliterated area around it. The Temple of Trials can also be found near the Lava Lake side of the Rapture.

The party's main interest in the Rapture is the strange formation of obelisks at the center of the region, surrounding a strange sigil and being flanked by four empty pedestals. Collecting orbs representing the primal elements (Earth, Wind, Fire, and Water) from the Rapture and its surrounding areas and placing them on the pedestals will activate the formation, allowing the party to use the sigil to reach The Beyond.

Many of the red crystals in The Rapture block the way forward (or more commonly, the path to treasure), requiring the party to find the Big Hammer in order to break them. There are also some braziers that require the Candle to light them; this is necessary in order to open up the cave where the Earth Orb can be found, guarded by a 2-headed Zombie Hydra. Some of the treasure can only be reached by finding the Thermal Boots, allowing the party to walk on basalt paths over the sea of lava at the cost of taking minor Fire damage with every step.

The northern side of the area features strange red lenses in the ground; when the party steps on them, they're teleported to a red sigil elsewhere in the area. The southern waters have some cloud/foam platforms that can only be crossed with the Winged Boots from the Forgotten Ruins.

After the v2 update, a hidden passage in the Zombie Hydra's cave allows the party to reach an even lower cavern where a hidden Arcade machine can be found. Be warned, however; the game it contains is far more potent and dangerous than most, to the point where its influence seems to be spreading beyond the machine's confines...

Enemies

In stark contrast to the Temple of Godcat from the fourth game, the Rapture is riddled with Dark, Bio and Fire foes, closely resembling Volcano Peak from the third game.

While The Rapture itself does not have a proper "boss," the heroes must fight a Zombie Hydra to obtain one of two orbs needed to open the path to The Beyond.
