The Gash Root is a crafting item in Epic Battle Fantasy 5. It is a long brown root covered in pale tan thorns; according to its menu description, it comes from a type of weed. It is used to forge certain pieces of equipment, primarily weapons made of wood or other plant parts.

Gash Roots can be bought in any Material Shop for 700 gold apiece. 89 are needed for the relevant upgrades.

Drop Rate

Gash Roots are dropped by plant-based creatures, including most Bushes and Chompers. Additionally, there's a 30% chance to find one every time The Axe is used to chop down a tree.

• The Gash Root's name is a combination of two crafting items from Epic Battle Fantasy 4 - the Gash Nut and the Lanky Root - and it can be considered a successor to both in terms of its forging applications.
• The Green Bush, Red Bush, and Red Pixel each appear to have a Gash Root growing from the tops of their heads in one of their visual variants. This is strictly cosmetic and has no impact on their drop rates.
