Gold is the currency used in the Epic Battle Fantasy series. Gold is used to buy Equipment, misc, upgrades (Bullet Heaven 1 and 3), customization,(Bullet Heaven 2), and food Items. It can be found in Treasure Chests, received after the end of battles, earned by playing minigames, and given by selling items. In EBF1, though, the player is already in possession of a handful of gold to spend on items they may need in battle.
