Spikey Tentacle
The Spikey Tentacle is a foe in Epic Battle Fantasy 5. It is one of The Devourer's appendages that can assist it in the final battle.
Appearance
The Spikey Tentacle is an enormous, fleshy tendril with its upper and lower sides separated by a thin, sickly yellow stripe. The upper side is red, with a lightly segmented appearance; the lower side is dull pink and dotted with octopus-like suckers. It has a large, disc-like growth at the tip which is lined with large bone spikes.
Overview
The Spikey Tentacle acts as a "fighter" for The Devourer, with a simplistic but powerful moveset that takes advantage of its incredibly high Attack stat. Its main attack is a single-target physical skill that deals heavy, slightly Earth-based damage with a chance to Stagger. It also uses a multi-target physical attack that deals slightly Wind-based damage; while weaker than the single-target attack, it's still quite powerful and able to hit the entire active party.
The Spikey Tentacle can be severed by taking significant damage; losing its old moves in favor of a magic-based attack that deals moderate Bio damage to all players and poisons them. On harder difficulties, it inflicts Virus instead of Poison; while this may not be a problem for the players (though the Devourer's ability to deal major damage begs to differ), all of the foes found in the Devourer fight are healed by Bio, meaning that this attack will give the Devourer free healing after a few turns. As such, a cut Spikey Tentacle must be killed as soon as possible on Hard or Epic difficulties.
Defensively, the Spikey Tentacle absorbs Bio, but is severely weak to Fire, Thunder, and Ice. Since it has no resistance to Wet or Dry, the party can apply these statuses and follow up with moves like Bullet Hell, Surge and Thunder Storm for heavy damage. It is immune to Chill and Freeze and resists Stun, Curse, Bad Luck, Tired, Weaken, and Instant Death; however, its resistances can be overcome with status-boosting gear.
The Devourer enters the battle with one Spikey Tentacle on the last slot. Like the Evil Eye and Slimy Tentacle spawns, these can be defeated and then regenerated as the battle progresses - they also cannot be captured.

- +0.2% for each of the 12 Arcade bosses, the 8 Data Bunker simulations, and the 5 1P Challenges in the Battle Arena; for a 5% total.
- Before the v2 update, the boost maxed out at 15%. In the web/free version the maximum possible increase is limited to 5% only, due to unavailability of all the optional content.
