The Earth Ball, named Earthball in EBF3 and Dirt Ball in EBF4, is a recurring crafting item in the Epic Battle Fantasy series since Epic Battle Fantasy 3. It is a simple ball of mud used for forging mostly Earth-related equipment, usually on their first or second upgrade.
In EBF3, the Earthball appears as four dirt clods of various sizes. Aside from its use as a crafting material, it can also be used to cast Rockslide during battle. It can be purchased from The Town's Misc Shop for 70 gold, and 12 will be needed to begin upgrading the Gaia Axe and the Obsidian.
In EBF4, the Dirt Ball resembles an irregular clump of mud. It can be bought from any Material Shop for 80 gold, with 48 being required to upgrade everything; the Quake Maker requires a particularly large amount compared to the other relevant gear.
In EBF5, the Earth Ball becomes a mostly round lump of dirt with a few pebbles and roots sticking out of it. It can be bought at any Material Shop for 60 gold; 158 are needed for forging, with most being used for the Hyper Drill and the Desert Scorpion.

Earth Balls are dropped by predominantly Earth-based foes, as well as some foes with burrowing attacks.
