The Warp Zone is a fast-travel hub in the Epic Battle Fantasy series, presented as a pocket dimension. It allows the player to instantly teleport to any checkpoint on the world map they have reached (although its use is optional). There is usually one checkpoint per area, appearing as crystals in EBF3, and friendly Slime Cats starting in EBF4, each stylized like the area it's from. To teleport, simply walk up to and interact with the object.

Epic Battle Fantasy 3

Full Warp Zone in EBF3

In EBF3, Warp Zone crystals are typically found right before the boss of the area, with the exception of Vegetable Forest's crystal, which can be accessed right after defeating the boss. There are a total of six crystals, one for each area minus the road to the final boss. Note that each crystal has to be used at least once to activate it in the Warp Zone; otherwise it cannot be warped to.

For more information, see here.

Crystal Locations (in order of discovery)

  1. The Town — Found under a tree at the entrance of Vegetable Forest. Yellow and star-shaped.
  2. Vegetable Forest — Found at the exit of the forest, accessible after defeating Jack. Green and shaped like a hexagonal diamond (or a Green Rupee from The Legend of Zelda).
  3. Rock Lake — Found on the same island as Krystal and her friend, shortly before fighting the Giant Squid; guarded by foes. Blue and shaped like a drop of water.
  4. Glacier Valley — Found just before the bridge guarded by the Tundra Mammoth. White and shaped like a cross/ice crystal.
  5. Kitten Kingdom Ruins — Found just before fighting the Protector. Brown and irregularly shaped, resembling a shinier version of the surrounding rocks.
  6. Volcano Peak — Found beside the canyon inhabited by the Pyrohydra. Red with orange accents, shaped like a flame.

Epic Battle Fantasy 4

Full Warp Zone in EBF4, including Premium content

In EBF4, Slime Cats are typically found halfway through an area. There are a total of ten Slime Cats in the free version of the game and twelve Slime Cats in the Steam version and the updated Premium Pack. Using one for the first time gives players the Slime Cat medal, while finding all ten/twelve (depending on whether you have Premium content or not) unlocks the Slime Cat King medal. Interacting with each one is no longer required to activate them in the Warp Zone — simply finding them is enough.

Trivia

  • In EBF4, the Molten Cat is the only Slime Cat which appears in the Warp Zone before finding its "real-world" equivalent. The same is true of the Angel Cat in EBF5.
  • So far, the Knight Cat is the only Slime Cat to be holding something; additionally, it is the only one with a unique tail.
    • It is unclear how it is holding the sword, as none of Slime Cats appear to have any type of hands or paws.
  • The music theme used for the EBF4 Warp Zone, Estavius (Piano), is shared with the main menu and the Lost Ruins.
