The Plutonium Core is a crafting item in Epic Battle Fantasy 4 and 5. It is a metallic gray ring made of plutonium, used for forging certain high-tech weapons to their last level; most of these are Bomb-based and/or among Lance's arsenal of guns.
In EBF4, the Plutonium Core can be bought in the Misc Shop of Goldenbrick Resort for 104,000 gold, making it the third-most expensive Material in the game. 7 are needed in order to upgrade all of the relevant equipment.
In EBF5, the Plutonium Core had a slight graphical update, gaining a faint yellow glow around it and an overall brighter appearance to its metal. It is available for purchase at the Material Shops in The Great Sea and Redpine Town; at 104,000 gold per piece, it's the fourth-most expensive Material in the game. To upgrade everything, 5 will be needed.
Drop Rate
Plutonium Cores are mostly dropped by powerful mechanical enemies; notably, the Protector is guaranteed to drop one in both of its appearances where the Material exists. The main exception is Telperion in EBF5, although the Plutonium Core may represent the power source of one of its M.O.A.B. attacks.
