The Wizard Hat is a male hat available in Epic Battle Fantasy 5. Its armor counterpart is the Wizard Robe.

Description

The Wizard Hat is a pointed violet hat reminiscent of those used by stereotypical wizards in pop culture. It is decorated with silver stars, blue-green baubles, and a black leather belt with a silver buckle, and its tip droops slightly. When worn by NoLegs, it covers his eyes and his ears stick out just above the belt.

Normal

Befitting its name, the Wizard Hat grants the second-highest boosts for Magic Defence and Magic Attack - only behind the Necromancer's Helmet - but it has little else of note. While it does boost healing spells (which is generally an unneeded asset), it lacks any other special effects and is generally outclassed by other, more versatile hats. The Necromancer's Helmet is generally a straight upgrade, but the Wizard Hat does a fine job if the former's penalties are too problematic.

Fortunately, because the Wizard Hat has fairly straightforward stats and limited special effects, more specialized options are easily found. The Puppy Hat, Cardboard Box and Dragon Helm are all viable alternatives depending on what flavors of offenses and defense the player wants.

The Wizard Hat resists Holy, Syphon, Disable and Dispel. All but the first become an immunity at Level 5.

Equip Remix

If the men of the party ever wondered what it feels like to be Natalie, the Alt Wizard Hat can give them a fair simulation of the experience (minus the fanservice). It has good Accuracy and Magic Defence, along with strong Magic Attack that it can buff further if its wearer Defends himself. Defending also grants Good Luck, further improving Accuracy while providing a host of other small benefits. Additionally, it improves the power of healing skills; while negligible in most situations, it works with the hat's massive Magic Attack.

The Alt Wizard Hat can be used as a safer alternative to the Alt Necromancer's Helmet or the Alt Death Mask; its Magic Attack is lower, but it lacks their stat penalties and negative resistances on top of giving its wearer what's basically a free Star Power on Defend. It works well for a magically-offensive Lance build, especially since it can compensate for the flaws of his most powerful magic-based guns; its good Accuracy helps the Alt Flame Titan hit its marks, while its on-Defend Good Luck mitigates the status weaknesses of the Alt Heartstopper while letting it hit even harder next turn.

The Alt Wizard Hat resists Fire, Thunder, and Ice, but doesn't become immune to any of them at Level 5.

Epic Battle Fantasy 5

The Wizard Hat is found inside a chest in Hope Harbor, on the same screen as the entrance to the Deathly Hollows. The Raft is required to reach the chest.
