The Santa Outfit is a male armor available in Epic Battle Fantasy 4 and 5. Its hat counterpart is the Santa Hat and its female counterpart is the Santa Skirt. It is a seasonal item that can only be acquired during the Christmas season.
Description
The Santa Outfit includes a jacket and pants made of red fur with white trim. The jacket is heavily padded, making the wearer look bulkier than they really are; it also has a single pair of white fasteners connected by a cord on the front, near the collar. Additionally, the outfit has red shoes and a small black belt with a silver buckle.
In EBF5, the Santa Outfit became a brighter shade of red and gained a larger black belt with a golden buckle. It now has two fasteners near the neck, and the trim around the collar became much thinner. If worn by Matt or NoLegs, it also has a string of Christmas lights dangling from it; the lights flash on and off, with their colors switching between red, blue, and green.
Befitting its inspiration, the Santa Outfit always resists Ice and Freeze while granting a significant amount of bulk; however, this often comes at the cost of a very small loss of Evade. It can usually cast a wintery skill between turns as well.
Epic Battle Fantasy 4
The Santa Outfit offers the fourth-best Defence and Magic Defence of any male armor; coupled with a decent HP boost, it's quite bulky. It also increases its wearer's MP while reducing his Evade; however, the latter is small enough to be largely negligible. Between turns, it will occasionally summon Snow, dealing light Ice damage to everyone on the battlefield with a chance to Freeze the targets; mind that it doesn't Freeze other players!
The Santa Outfit is far from the most durable armor in the game, but it lacks the more crippling penalties of the Knight Armor or the Bone Armor. Statistically, its closest competitor is the Space Suit, which has identical HP, MP, and Freeze resistance on top of slightly stronger defenses and no Evade penalty; on the other hand, the Santa Outfit has an Ice resistance that can be helpful for the Crystal Caverns and an auto-summon with practical (if specific) battle applications. It can also be compared to the Viking Fur, which has an extra Water resistance and a more powerful auto-skill in exchange for no HP boost, slightly lower defenses, and a Magic Attack penalty instead of an Evade drop.
The Santa Outfit resists Ice and Freeze, with the latter becoming an immunity at Level 5.
Epic Battle Fantasy 5
Normal
The Santa Outfit has good Defence and Magic Defence, a decent Magic Attack bonus, and the best HP among male armor (tied with the Space Ace and the Spartan Cuirass), all for the cost of a minimal Evade drop. It powers up Ice skills and has a high chance to cast Surprise Present between turns, dealing magical Bomb damage and possibly inflicting Bad Luck on a random foe.
From an offensive standpoint, Matt makes the best use of the Santa Outfit's elemental boost; Lance better appreciates the Magic Attack and auto-skill, but he usually favors the Coat of Teeth instead. Defensively, it can be used on either Matt or Lance; NoLegs would rather don armor that doesn't reduce his Evade.
The Santa Outfit resists Ice, Holy, Freeze, and Chill. It becomes immune to the latter two at Level 5.
Equip Remix
The Alt Santa Outfit combines the HP of the Alt Heroic Armor with the Defence and Magic Defence of the Alt Dragon Armor to give its wearer great all-around durability; and he'll need it, because it also reduces Evade a little. It empowers buff skills and items of all types (healing, buffing, and thrown), allowing its wearer to effectively support his allies, and its bulk helps him stay on the front lines while he works.
The Alt Santa Outfit can be used in any of its wearer's defensive support builds, although its buff boost is largely wasted on Lance and its Evade penalty tends to be suboptimal for NoLegs. However, the latter can actually turn that to his advantage with the Alt Godly Book, letting him tank attacks better and immediately counter with Heal More; it also adds auto-Purify and a healing skill bonus to the Alt Santa Outfit's already-prodigious support capabilities.
The Alt Santa Outfit resists Ice, Freeze, Chill, Wet, and Dry. All but the first will become an immunity at Level 5.
Epic Battle Fantasy 4
The Santa Outfit can be purchased for 3,000 gold in any equipment shop if your computer's calendar is set to December.

The Santa Outfit is part of the reward of Sally's quest in the Warp Zone. Sally is a seasonal NPC who only appears during the Christmas season (December 1 - January 7).
