The Icecream Sandwich is an Ice-elemental cat toy available for NoLegs in Epic Battle Fantasy 5.

Description

The Icecream Sandwich set is composed of - as expected - ice cream. Its "weapon" is a three-scoop ice cream cone, with the colors of the scoops corresponding to the colors of Icecream Slime; pink on the bottom, blue in the middle, and green on top. Its "shield" is an ice cream sandwich made of blue ice cream in between two square wafers; a droplet of ice cream drips from the bottom. Based on the Icecream Slimes that are used to upgrade it, the ice cream might be bubblegum-flavored (and inedible).

Normal

The Icecream Sandwich is a support-oriented weapon, mainly focused around its ability to increase the power of the buffs and healing spells NoLegs casts. It gives a moderate buff to Magic Attack, a strong boost to both Defence and Magic Defence (third-best among cat toys), and small boosts to Evade and HP. This combination of stats gives the Icecream Sandwich good defensive capabilities, allowing NoLegs to safely stay on the front lines while buffing or healing.

The Icecream Sandwich also has slight offensive utility; while NoLegs has limited options for exploiting its Ice boost and its Wafer unleash is weak, it can inflict Chill with weapon-elemental skills. As such, it can be used for an Ice or Freeze-heavy strategy if NoLegs doesn't need to take point with the Book of Spells instead.

As a buffing/support weapon, the Icecream Sandwich's main competition is the Dog Sausage, which improves healing and buffing Food in addition to buff skills while also providing extra Evade and a small Attack boost to let NoLegs apply some damage in between his support duties. On the other hand, the Icecream Sandwich has superior bulk, a boost to healing skills, a better on-hit effect, and no risk of angering powerful beasts like Bears and Mammoths.

The Icecream Sandwich resists Fire, Water, Wet and Dry. The latter two become an immunity at Level 5.

Equip Remix

The Alt Icecream Sandwich has excellent Magic Attack, decent Magic Defence, and a little Evade and HP, but at the cost of slightly weakening Attack. This combination encourages NoLegs to take a magic-based offensive, which clashes with his iffy magical movepool and the long cooldown times of Star Blast and Sushi Cat. Ultimately, NoLegs will have to rely on shared skills for meaningful damage - most likely Bubble Blast and Snow Cats, which benefit from the weapon's elemental boosts. Even so, he'll usually fall behind magically offensive Lance and Natalie builds.

The Alt Icecream Sandwich also has some decent Freezing capabilities. Its weapon-elemental attacks have a great Chill chance, which works nicely with its Deep Freeze unleash. It also has a small chance to summon a Big Icecream Slime between turns, dealing light damage to all foes while afflicting them with Chill. That said, it still needs another component to inflict Wet or Freeze en masse, which makes it less consistent and efficient than the Alt Book of Spells.

The Alt Icecream Sandwich resists Ice, Chill, Freeze, and Dispel. It becomes immune to all but the first at Level 5.

The Icecream Sandwich can be bought in any equipment shop for 1,000 gold, e.g. in Hope Harbor, Greenwood Village or Redpine Town.
