The Dog Sausage is a Fire-elemental cat toy available for NoLegs in Epic Battle Fantasy 5.

Description

The Dog Sausage's weapon is a large silver fork impaling a grilled sausage still dripping with grease. According to its name and description, the sausage is made from the meat of Dogs; for the sake of one's last-eaten meal, it's best not to wonder what Dog was cooked to make it. Its offhand item is a red bottle of spicy sauce with a white cap and label; the latter depicts a red chili pepper with a short green stem.

Normal

The Dog Sausage greatly increases NoLegs's Magic Attack (which improves his healing power) and grants a solid bonus to his Evade, but its below-average Attack hampers most of his natural skills. It enhances Fire skills and can Burn foes with Weapon-elemental skills, but these are fairly insignificant, especially since Fire Spin and Supernova are NoLegs's only options to exploit the elemental boost.

However, the Dog Sausage makes up for its poor offensive potential by arguably being the best cat toy for a buff build. It enhances the effect of NoLegs's buffing skills and the power of healing and buffing items; since NoLegs can learn all of the shared buff skills, he can maximize the party's defensive stats while also applying improved offensive buffs via Food like Beer and Iron Brew. Although the Icecream Sandwich has a healing boost and better defenses, NoLegs prefers dodging over tanking for defense; additionally, the Dog Sausage's Food boost lets him maintain his healing duties while waiting out the cooldown on his skills or if he's afflicted with Syphon or RIP.

It should be noted that the Dog Sausage's beast-intimidating effect tends to be harmful to the player; most of the relevant foes will go Berserk on their turn, including physical powerhouses like Mammoths and Bears. On the other hand, being able to quickly disable a Mage Dog's support skills can be useful.

The Dog Sausage grants resistances to Fire, Chill, Freeze, Burn and Scorch; all but the first become an immunity once maxed.

Equip Remix

With the Alt Dog Sausage in (figurative) hand, NoLegs is ready to have his foes for a barbecue...as the main course. It has minor boosts to HP and Evade, along with the third-best Magic Attack of all cat toys; conversely, its Attack boost is the third-lowest of any weapon in NoLegs's arsenal. It enhances Fire skills, including its own Fire Spin unleash, which allows it to take advantage of the Dry it inflicts with its Weapon-elemental skills. It also enables NoLegs to counter attacks with his Normal Attack, giving him further opportunities to activate the weapon's on-hit effects; however, it's best to leave the Dry exploitation to allies with better access to Fire and Bomb skills. Fortunately, it inflicts a lot of Dry on-hit; even if Fire Spin triggers, there will still be four more stacks of the status for the party to exploit.

Aside from applying Dry, the Alt Dog Sausage increases the effect of healing and buff items, and its Fire Spin unleash can mildly lower enemy Defence while giving them a Burn. While generally incidental, this can occasionally be used to counteract a foe's attempt to buff their Defence.

The Alt Dog Sausage resists Fire, Ice, and Bio. It doesn't become immune to any of them at Level 5.

The Dog Sausage is found inside a chest in the Mystic Woods, in the protestors' treetop campsite. The chest is guarded by a battle that appears as a Slime Bunny.
