Fridge Turret
The Fridge Turret, also known as Cooler, is a foe that appears in Epic Battle Fantasy 2 as a helper of the final boss. It returns in Epic Battle Fantasy 4 as a normal foe found in the Waste Disposal Plant.
Appearance
The Fridge Turret is a large, cylindrical turbine with a black exterior and dark grey accents. It has a large silver vent at the front, flanked by six small projections of uncertain function. A smaller black cylinder is mounted on top of the turbine, with two grey hoses protruding from its rear; one connects to the main turbine, and the other seems to connect to something hidden at the bottom of the Turret.
Like the Laser Turret, the Fridge Turret is mounted on a pair of large silver hinges that allow it to rotate upwards. It emerges from a square panel made of silver metal; depending on the game, it may be mounted on a tank or hidden in the floor.
Overview
The Fridge Turret is not particularly strong, but compensates by being capable of inflicting debilitating Status effects on the party. As its name suggests, it mainly favors Ice attacks that can inflict Freeze, backed by skills with a different element and status effect. All of its attacks deal magic-based damage, so increasing the party's Magic Defence can render its offensive output near-meaningless; however, the real priority should be increasing their resistance to the ailments it can inflict or equipping them to disable/destroy the Fridge Turret before it can disrupt them.
In both of its appearances, the Fridge Turret is immune to the Poison status, but it has weaknesses to several elements, including Bomb and Thunder.
Epic Battle Fantasy 2
The Cooler is one of the Turrets that the Valkyrie Tank can deploy if one of its initial turrets (Omega Lazor and Lance) are defeated. It has a Poison cloud that can mildly Poison Matt and Natalie, but its main attacks are Ice-based moves intended to Freeze their targets. One of these skills hits multiple times and affects both characters at once; the other is single-target, single-hit, and less accurate, but it does more damage and has a higher Freeze chance with longer duration. Either way, liberal use of Slime Bunny can help mitigate the threat of Freeze without compromising the party's buffing and healing attempts.
On Epic difficulty, the Cooler's multi-target attacks gain increased status infliction chances, and its Toxic Cloud inflicts more stacks of Poison per hit. When destroyed, it slightly buffs the Valkyrie Tank's defenses.
The Cooler is resistant to Poison and Earth (the former more so than the latter), but is weak to Bomb, Thunder, and especially Fire. It is completely immune to Poison, Syphon, and Blind while being strongly resistant to Dispel, Stun, and all stat debuffs. The Valkyrie Tank takes damage equal to half of the damage the Cooler suffers from an attack.
Epic Battle Fantasy 4
The Fridge Turret is an obnoxious support unit that excels at making the party highly vulnerable to more offensively-inclined foes. Although its Ice and Water attacks deal low damage, it can hit the entire front line with problematic status effects and stat drops, including Freeze, mild Evade and Magic Defence debuffs, and Wet. The last effect is especially annoying; not only does it increase the likelihood of the Fridge Turret's Ice attacks Freezing the party, it gives the plentiful Thunder-based foes in the Waste Disposal Plant a significant damage boost for their elemental attacks.
Fortunately, the Fridge Turret isn't immune to the most debilitating status effects (although it is resistant to them), all of which can render it helpless for their duration (or destroy it outright if you land Instant Death on it). Increasing Wet and Freeze resistance can also mitigate its threat level; without its status effects, it has only its awful damage output and weak stat debuffs to fall back on. Amusingly, you can even turn its favored tactic against it; it has no resistance to Wet, which magnifies its severe Thunder weakness and mitigates its Freeze resistance.
The Fridge Turret is immune to Wind, Bio, Poison, Burn, and Stagger; it also resists Ice, Stun, Freeze, Syphon, Doom, and Death. On the other hand, it takes extra damage from Water, Earth and especially Bomb and Thunder. It's relatively unaffected by "More Foe Resistance", only becoming immune to Defence debuffs.

The following describes general logic of the enemy and attack patterns, with chances of each attack to be used. Conditions are listed from highest to lowest priority unless specified otherwise.
Epic Battle Fantasy 2
- Anything → Cold Cloud (1/3), Poison Cloud (1/3), Frost Beam (1/3).
Additionally, if playing on Hard or higher difficulties, the Cooler will use its Buff on the Valkyrie when it's defeated.
Epic Battle Fantasy 4
