The Blue Elephant is a female hat found in Epic Battle Fantasy 5. It doesn't have an armor counterpart.

Description

The Blue Elephant is a small, light blue elephant with long white tusks and beady black eyes. Its design is directly based on the art style of Joey Betz (a.k.a. Jimp).

Normal

The Blue Elephant gives a great bonus to HP, as well as minor bonuses to Attack and Magic Attack. It can randomly summon a War Mammoth between turns, sharply improving the party's Defence and dishing out some good Bomb damage - unfortunately, the odds of it doing so are quite low. The combination of three elemental resistances and a large HP boost greatly increases the wearer's durability, but its main asset is that it is the only female headgear that increases the chances of inflicting status effects. This makes it almost essential for status-infliction builds, as well as a fine complement for weapons such as the Alchemist's Bow or The Knife.

The Blue Elephant provides resistances to Water, Bio and Bomb, but it won't be immune to any of them at Level 5.

Equip Remix

The Alt Blue Elephant has great Attack and defenses, along with a tiny boost to HP and a chance to apply the valuable Haste status between turns. It's also guaranteed to make its wearer Berserk every turn after the first, improving her attack power at the cost of making her uncontrollable.

Despite being quite durable and physically powerful on top of sometimes granting Haste, the Alt Blue Elephant is largely hampered by its auto-Berserk. It's mainly useful for Anna's Berserker build, but it also has good synergy with The Alt Knife or the Alt Soul Crusher for the extremely unorthodox physical Natalie build. Ultimately, however, many other hats have superior durability or Attack power without taking control away from the player; in particular, the Alt Drill Bits are comparably bulky and offer a powerful (if unreliable) offensive buff in exchange for a tiny amount of Attack. If Anna or Natalie specifically require Berserk, NoLegs can provide it with Raging Force, allowing them to use different hats and alternative sources of Haste.

The Alt Blue Elephant resists Water, Bio and Bomb, becoming immune to none of them at Level 5.

Trivia

• The Blue Elephant has been the star of many Flash games, such as Achievement Unlocked, This is the Only Level, and Elephant Quest; this is alluded to by its item description.
• When the Blue Elephant is equipped, it squeaks when clicked on. Doing this repeatedly is one way to get the "Squishy" Medal; the Blue Elephant itself serves as the Medal's icon when "Cleavage" is disabled.
• Natalie's comment when equipping the Blue Elephant in battle for the first time is shared with the Slime Bunny.
