Lava Slime

The Lava Slime is a foe and a summon in Epic Battle Fantasy 5. They are generally found around The Rapture's Lava Lake and the east side of the Freezeflame Dungeon. It is a member of the Slimes enemy group.

Appearance

Lava Slimes are small blobs of reddish-orange lava-like substance; they appear to be partially solidified, judging by the cracks dotting the sides of their bodies. They have the standard Slime face and an arrangement of volcanic rocks protruding from their backs, with the variations including:

  1. A large rock pointing straight upward and a smaller rock shard sticking out at an angle.
  2. A conical rock with lava overflowing from the center, resembling a tiny volcano.
  3. Two blunt rocks leaning slightly forward.

Overview

Lava Slimes are simple foes capable of hitting a player with Dry or Burn. While this can be a bit annoying if paired with a stronger foe armed with Bomb or Fire attacks, it is generally not a cause for concern.

Lava Slimes absorb Fire and resist both Ice and Wind, but can be readily taken out with a Water or Dark attack. Regardless of the element chosen, Lava Slimes are easily dispatched, so one should focus on the other foes in the wave.

Battle Logic

The following describes general logic of the enemy and attack patterns, with chances of each attack to be used. Conditions are listed from highest to lowest priority unless specified otherwise.

Action

  • If catch score >55 and all players are Lovable → Surrender;
  • If Berserked → Jump & Back;
  • If Syphoned → Jump & Dissolve;
  • Otherwise → Jump & Back (1/6), Jump & Dissolve (1/6), Jump & Burn (2/6), Fire Rock (2/6).

Counter (only if Counter-Attacking Foes is enabled)

  • 100% and not Syphoned → Fire Rock.

Additionally, if any front line player has equipment that scares Slimes, the Lava Slime will immediately Surrender and Flee on their turn.

Summon

The foe can be captured to be used as a summon.
