The Knight's Helmet (called the Knight Helmet prior to EBF5) is a male hat found in Epic Battle Fantasy 3, 4 and 5. Its armor counterpart is the Knight Armor, and its female hat and armor counterparts are the Drill Bits and Breastplate.

Description

The Knight Helmet, as the name suggests, is a gray medieval knight's helmet with a pointed top and a grated visor. In EBF5, it has a rounded top and its color changes to match the Spartan Cuirass and the Shell Armor if it is equipped with either of them.

The Knight's Helmet usually gives great boosts to the wearer's Defence and Magic Defence, as well as a more modest increase of HP to increase his general bulk. However, it also makes the wearer vulnerable to certain elements, with Fire being a common weakness. It may also randomly summon a sword-wielding cat to attack foes between turns.

Epic Battle Fantasy 3

The Knight Helmet provides good Defence, modest Magic Defence, and a tiny bit of HP, but it also lowers Evade slightly. At its maximum level, it can automatically summon NoLegs to slash a random foe between turns, dealing moderate non-elemental damage. While it's not a bad choice for physical tanking, it's hampered by the presence of more versatile hats and numerous sources of Fire and Thunder damage in the later stages of the game.

The Knight Helmet is slightly vulnerable to Fire and Thunder, with the weaknesses remaining at 10% no matter its forging level.

Epic Battle Fantasy 4

Between impressive Defence, average Magic Defence, and a small HP boost, the Knight Helmet is a respectable defensive hat, especially on the physical side. Unfortunately, its value is undercut by moderate vulnerabilities to two elements and a lack of effective abilities; while its NoLegs auto-summon can attack the entire enemy wave at once, the damage output isn't particularly outstanding.

The Knight Helmet has weaknesses to Fire and Water, which remain at 30% no matter its forging level.

Epic Battle Fantasy 5

Normal

The Knight's Helmet has substantial Defence, decent Magic Defence, and modest HP, making its wearer quite bulky as long as its elemental weaknesses aren't exploited. It can occasionally call a Cat Warrior between turns that slashes a random foe for decent non-elemental damage.

The Knight's Helmet isn't the best fit for NoLegs (despite being his starting gear) due to its lack of Evade, but Matt can use it to amplify his already impressive physical bulk (preferably paired with equipment that mitigates the helmet's Fire and Water weaknesses). It also benefits strategies that involve inflicting Syphon or Berserk on foes, since these statuses often limit them to physical attacks that the Knight's Helmet does better against. However, in most situations, other hats will give greater benefit to Matt, Lance, and/or NoLegs.

The Knight's Helmet resists Thunder, but is vulnerable to Fire and Water. Its weaknesses remain at 30% no matter its forging level, but its Thunder resistance maxes out at 50% when fully upgraded.

Equip Remix

The Alt Knight's Helmet offers good Defence, serviceable Magic Defence, and a pinch of HP, along with resistances that range from fairly useful to situational at best. Its main draw is its ability to Bless its wearer when he Defends himself, giving him some protection against harmful status effects. These qualities give the Alt Knight's Helmet potential as part of a Target Tank build.

The Alt Knight's Helmet resists Thunder, Weaken, Tired, Light and Heavy. It becomes immune to all but the first at Level 5.

The Knight Helmet is found in a chest on the first screen of Glacier Valley, hidden underneath the trees in the bottom-right.

The Knight Helmet is found in Ashwood Forest, in the top-right chest on the screen with red, purple, and blue-haired NPC girls. The chest is guarded by a battle that appears as a Friend Dog.
