G*bson EB0
The Gibson EB0 (spelled G*bson EB0 in-game for legal reasons) is a Wind-elemental sword available for Matt in Epic Battle Fantasy 4.
Description
The G*bson EB0 is a round red guitar modeled after the real-world 1961 Gibson EB-0 bass guitar. Before becoming one of the available weapons in EBF4, it appeared in Brawl Royale and Epic Battle Fantasy, being wielded by Canti.
The G*bson EB0 is one of Matt's few swords that focus on improving his magical capabilities. Do keep in mind that making Matt a magical attacker is highly unorthodox, as he has inferior stats than the rest of the party for doing so and has a fairly limited skillset. It can be done effectively, but it is far simpler and more powerful to keep Matt a physical attacker.
The G*bson EB0 provides a hefty Magic Attack boost - bested only by the Rune Blade and Equilibrium - as well as a nifty bonus for Matt's MP and Magic Defence. However, it provides a rather subpar Attack boost, being tied with the Blood Blade for the second-lowest of any sword. It empowers Matt's Wind skills and casts Power Metal between turns to take advantage of it. What makes the G*bson EB0 unique in EBF4 is that it is the only magically-inclined sword with a meaningful elemental boost; Matt has no magical Holy skills for the Rune Blade to boost (aside from its own Glitter unleash), and the Equilibrium empowers no elements at all.
However, unless the player intends to focus primarily on Shockwave and Power Metal, the Rune Blade is a direct upgrade in all areas as a magic-based weapon while the Equilibrium provides fearsome offensive power on both physical and magical fronts. Also of note is that Airwave/Shockwave is not overly powerful, even with the G*bson EB0; using Acid or Hellfire with the relevant sword is a more reliable source of single-target damage.
The G*bson EB0 resists Thunder and Wind, neither of which becomes an immunity at Level 5.
