Options are a gameplay feature in Epic Battle Fantasy 5. Accessible from the bottom-right corner of the in-game menu (or the title screen), they allow the player to toggle different visual and audio functions.

Anti-Aliasing

These options determine the quality of the game's graphics. The higher settings will appear cleaner and less "pixelated", but they may also cause lag on slower computers.

Low: Poor graphics, but best performance.

Medium: Normal graphics and performance. May lag on slower computers.

High: Best graphics. May require a high-quality computer to avoid lag.

Idle Animations

These options toggle various animations and other quirks. Turn them off to improve performance.

Players & Foes: Animates characters during combat or exploration.

Backgrounds: Animates environmental features during exploration.

Fast Text: Dialogue will appear all at once in text boxes. Turning this option off will cause dialogue to be "typed out" in text boxes instead.

Window Size

These options allow the player to adjust the size of the EBF5 game window. The choices include:

  • 560p
  • 640p
  • 700p
  • 800p
  • 920p
  • 1040p

Fullscreen Options

These options adjust the game's "Fullscreen Mode", which automatically makes it fill the entire monitor.

Fullscreen Resolution: Adjusts the size of the fullscreen window to better fit your monitor. The Best Fit option will automatically pick the size that fills as much of the screen as possible without cutting anything off; otherwise, the player can choose between one of six options:

  • 1024 x 576
  • 1152 x 648
  • 1280 x 720
  • 1366 x 768
  • 1600 x 900
  • 1920 x 1080

Toggle Fullscreen Mode: Enables or disables the Fullscreen Mode.

Music/Sound Volume

These options determine how loud the in-game audio is; set it to the best volume for your ears and/or surroundings. Both options are depicted as meters that can be adjusted by clicking the relevant section; the percentage in the middle of the meter indicates how high the volume has been set. Clicking on the 0% to the left of the meter mutes the volume; conversely, clicking the 100% on the right of the meter will maximize it.

Music Volume: Adjusts the volume of the background music.

Sound Volume: Adjusts the volume of sound effects.

Content filters

These options toggle different types of in-game content.

Tips: Displays helpful information in the game, such as arrow signs pointing where to go next (e.g. in The Great Sea) or extra dialogue boxes with hints about gameplay.

Blood: Displays blood sprays when a character is attacked. Also enables more violent dialogue and changes the colors on certain pieces of equipment (e.g. the fluid within the Blood Bank becomes red instead of green).

Flashes: Displays flash effects during certain attacks (e.g. Matt's Unleash skill).

Cleavage: Displays scantily-clad anime girls along with related jokes (e.g. most of Natalie's armor, some of Anna's armor, Natalie's breasts aren't clickable & the squishy medal's icon was changed from a close-up of her breasts to the Blue Elephant).

Mature: Displays misc. inappropriate content in the game (e.g. middle fingers in character dialogue icons, the nipples and swinging appendage on Jotun, the Dump attack used by Bears, and the pentagram design on the Golden Pendant).

Shaking: Displays shake effects during certain attacks (e.g. Matt's Cleaver skill).

Zero: Enemy stats are 25%.
