Steal Item is a skill available for Matt in Epic Battle Fantasy 5.
Description
When used, Matt jumps in front of a foe and swipes them with his free hand, dealing very light non-elemental damage and nabbing an item from them. As with all stealing skills, the stolen item will be briefly displayed in a speech bubble after Matt returns to his usual position.
Steal Item is very weak and has low Accuracy, but it allows Matt to steal items from enemies, which can be useful to obtain crafting materials or consumables (see Stealing for the exact mechanics). However, for the most part, no Rare Food or Steroids can be obtained through Stealing. Once the player gets far enough into the game, it can also be useful to capture low-level enemies; however, Bow Whack is typically superior due to its enhanced Surrender chance and complete inability to kill foes on its own.
